Sustainability Policy
Mondo Verde’s systemic approach to sustainability differentiates us in the market place. Sustainability is not treated as an ‘add on’ but as an integral part of our business and our belief system at a professional and personal level. Mondo Verde is developing a corporate culture where people are trained to think differently, imaginatively and innovatively to achieve outcomes for our clients and outcomes for the environment and society.
Our Policy Framework
Our sustainability policy is informed by or stakeholders. Our commitment starts by talking to our stakeholders, developing a policy, strategic actions around Our Business, Governance, the Environment, and Society, setting targets and then measuring results against these.
KEY PRINCIPLES
Our Business
- We annually set ourselves targets to improve outcomes for our business financially, for our staff and our clients.
- Our clients are at the heart of everything we do.
- We share our policy with suppliers and we encourage and give preference to those suppliers that adopt higher actions around the sustainable management of their business.
- We employ and retain staff who have a high awareness and expertise in sustainability and we encourage ongoing education and training.
Our Environment
- We will comply with all relevant laws and we have a written environmental management plan to identify and minimise the impact of our activities on the environment.
- We recognise that the use of fossil fuels is the major contribution to rising greenhouse gasses and we aim to use 100% renewable energy.
- We choose offices close to public transport, we encourage staff, candidates and clients to travel by public transport and we actively support work from home.
- In the use of office equipment, including computers, printers, paper and appliances, we adopt the approach of avoiding use in the first instance, reducing consumption and re-using materials.
- Where we must purchase, we evaluate our suppliers and choose products with higher levels of environmental credentials.
Our Society
- We believe every company has a responsibility to the local communities on which they have an impact.
- Our approach is to engage with our community stakeholders and form long term partnerships to address key social issues.
- As a recruitment and retention firm, we have a unique role we can play in ensuring outcomes that are free of discrimination. We particularly work to improve discrepancies that may exist in labour market around gender.
- We donate a percentage of profits to charity for every assignment we undertake – so every candidate we place makes a positive contribution to the environment and society.
Governance
- Mondo Verde’s commercial, environmental and social risks and opportunities are integrated into our governance and risk management frameworks.
- Our board has ultimate responsibility to set the standard and tone for the organisation.
Our Material Issues
As a supplier of human resource services, we are aware that we impact very directly outcomes for our client organisations and our candidates. We place particular emphasis on our impacts in these areas and our material issues include:
